Is Yeshua the Father? Would/Did Moses Worship Yeshua?

Key Points:

  • Is Yeshua to be worshipped?
  • Is Yeshua YHWH?
  • Is Yeshua deity?
  • Is Yeshua divine?
  • Did Moses worship Yeshua?
  • Did Joshua worship Yeshua?
  • What constitutes worship based upon Torah definitions?
  • Is there anyone other Savior but YHWH?

Many torah observant Messianic's are rejecting the divinity/deity of Yeshua with the intent of avoiding violating the first commandment. Let's take a look at a couple of definitions so we understand what the issues are. Once we understand the meaning of worship, we can determine with clarity if Yeshua is YHWH and if Moses worshipped Yeshua.

It appears to be quite clear to be either divine or a deity equates one's status with being "God". We cannot parse words here. You are either pregnant or not pregnant. You cannot be little bit pregnant and you can't be a little bit "God". You either are or you are not. You can't be both, not God and God. You are either equal to "God" or you are not equal to "God". Let's be clear in who we are referring to when we say "God": We mean God the Father, YHWH. We should gain clear insight into what is defined as "YHWH the Father" by His commandments, the Torah, Tanach, and the Brit Chadasha's examples of worship. What is worship?

Is Yeshua Divine/Deity and is He to be Worshipped?

As we can see here, worship is used in connection with reverent love, religious forms, and ardent devotion accorded a "deity", "god", or an idol or sacred object. We have already learned above that a deity is equal to "God" (YHWH, the Father). How do we know this "worship" is to YHWH, the Father? YHWH identifies Himself in the very first commandment given at Mount Sinai cautioning Israel and the world to only worship Him and no other.

Exodus 20: 1And God spake all these words, saying,  2I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.  3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.  4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.  5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;  6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.  7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

The Torah is clear that this is "God" the Father, YHWH, who spoke to Israel from the Mountain. His "voice" was so powerful and intense that the people thought that continued exposure to the "voice" would result in their collective death, hence their request that Moses intercede on their behalf and that the Father (YHWH) would instruct Moses, who would then in turn instruct the people. This is the same "voice" that appeared upon the mercy seat.

Numbers 7:  88And all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace offerings were twenty and four bullocks, the rams sixty, the he goats sixty, the lambs of the first year sixty. This was the dedication of the altar, after that it was anointed.  89And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.

This is the "voice"/"word" of YHWH. This is YHWH upon the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies, and also appearing in Exodus 20 speaking to Israel from the Mountain.

Let's be clear there is a clear connection between "bowing down", "serving", and "having a God ("I am the Lord thy God"), and YHWH's expressed command to not bow down to anything, likeness, or image, that was not Him, the Father.

Let's also not miss these pivotal connections, all of these are associated with worship and Identification of YHWH the Father. We see their appearance at the giving of the 10 commandments by YHWH at Mount Sinai.

  • Bowing down and serving is worship of "God", YHWH the Father, or conversley an image/idol.
  • The visual appearance of the Pillar of Fire (Presence of YHWH, the Shekinah Glory) on the Mountain; the image of YHWH.
  • The visual/audible appearance of the Voice of YHWH.
  • Message of Deliverance (from Bondage, from Pharaoh, from Sin, from Exile, from Death).
  • The consequential result of taking YHWH's name in vain if you reject the "Voice of YHWH" and worship other gods.

There is no debate in Judaism that this is YHWH the Father (God) that is speaking. Page 407 of the Stone Edition Chumash states, "Hashem, your God. Hashem is a proper noun; it is God's name. However, Elohim, which means God, is also a generic expression that implies power, and as such is also a generic expression that implies power, and as such it sometimes refers to angels, a court of law, or rulers. Furthermore, it is used to refer to idols, whose followers consider them to have power. By identifying Himself to Israel as your God, the Almighty announced that He is Israel's own deity and, as Sforno comments, we are to pray only and directly to Him...Therefore, when God revealed Himself at Sinai, He informed Israel clearly that there was only one Hashem, in Egypt as at the Sea and at Sinai."

So, YHWH the Father was clear when He gave the 10 commandments that we are only to worship, bow down, and serve HIm and nobody else. This "worship" is only for Deity/the Divine and anything else is merely an idol. There is no equivocation. There is no middle ground. You are either pregnant or you are not. You are either God or you are not! We know that it took the revelation of YHWH's voice and name for YHWH sanctioned worship (bowing/serving) to occur. So we should be able to look to the Mediator of the Covenant, Moses, for a correct example. Did Moses worship YHWH the Father? Did Moses worship Yeshua, the Word of YHWH? Let's evaluate Moses' first meeting with the God of His Fathers, YHWH.

Exodus 3: 1Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.2And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.  3And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.  4And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.  5And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.  6Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.  7And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;  8And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.  9Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.  10Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.  11And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?  12And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.  13And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?  14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.  15And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

Let's take note of the established facts of Moses' own testimony of His first encounter with God the Father (YHWH):

  • Moses sees a bush on fire, but the bush is not burnt.
  • The Angel of YHWH appears to Moses in the Burning bush.
  • YHWH saw Moses turn aside and YHWH called to Moses from the Bush.
  • YHWH instructs Moses, "Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground." Remember this because you will see this same exact instruction given to Joshua!
  • The voice from the burning bush declares, "I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob"
  • Moses is afraid, "Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God".
  • God the Father/YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, declares, "I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians"
  • God further declares that released Israel will "serve" Him upon this very mountain.
  • Moses is instructed to declare God the Father's name to Israel while in Egypt so that they might come and serve Him, "and shall say unto them, "The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?  14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM"".
  • God the Father, YHWH the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob declares His name to Moses out of the burning bush for Israel to hear, " God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever"

Exodus 3 shows the Presence of YHWH the Father as fire in the burning bush on the mountain with His voice speaking and declaring His name to Israel as Moses serves Him.

Exodus 20 shows the Presence of YHWH the Father as the Shekinah Glory (fire) upon the Mountain, with His voice speaking the 10 commandments to Israel and declaring how Israel should properly worship His Name.

Once again these encounters have these common events:

  • Fire (Presence of YHWH the Father); the Image of YHWH
  • Voice of YHWH
  • Declaring the Name of YHWH
  • Message of Deliverance (from Bondage, from Pharaoh, from Sin, from Exile, from Death)
  • Worship-service, obedience, observance

YHWH, the Father is there.

Let's take a quick look at what the Stone Edition Chumash says about the fire in the bush. We need to put aside any doubts that the Jews recognize this fire as YHWH the Father.

Page 301, Stone Edition, Chumash; "The Torah describes Moses' vision in three different ways: a fire, an angel, and, finally, as God. Because this was Moses' first prophecy, he had to be exposed to it gradually, like someone in a dark room, whose eyes cannot tolerate an immediate exposure to blinding sunlight. First, Moses was shown a fire that was strange because it did not consume the bush. This excited his curiosity to investigate, something he would not have done had he realize that a Godly holiness was resting upon it. Then it was revealed to him that an angel was in the fire, and once he had become accustomed to this new phenomenon, he was given the vision of God Himself. Thus, too, God introduced Himself as the God of Moses' father, Armram, only then did He say that He was the God of the Patriarchs."

It is explicitly clear that this is YHWH the Father.

Where these characteristics are, YHWH the Father resides. Not part of YHWH the Father...All. So we have two events of Moses worshiping YHWH, the God of His fathers. Let's advance to the next instance of Moses' worship after the speaking of the 10 commandments by YHWH the Father. The next event is YHWH is declaring the Feasts of YHWH to Moses.

Exodus 23: 17Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the LORD God.  18Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.  19The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.  20Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.  21Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.  22But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.  23For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.  24Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.  25And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.  26There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.  27I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee.  28And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.  29I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the beast of the field multiply against thee.  30By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.  31And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee. 32Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.  33They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

Let's take note of YHWH's testimony to Moses:

  • YHWH will send an angel before them that will bring them into the land.
  • This "angel" of YHWH's voice is to be obeyed the same as YHWH's.
  • All that the "angel" speaks is YHWH speaking.
  • This "angel" of YHWH has YHWH (the Father's) name in Him.
  • The people are commanded to serve the "angel" of YHWH, the Lord God.
  • The "angel of YHWH" will "bless thy bread, and thy water" and YHWH will take away sickness from them.
  • The people are commanded to NOT bow down or serve the nations or their false gods and images.
  • YHWH will drive out the inhabitants from before them.
  • The "angel" of YHWH will go before them and YHWH will cut off the inhabitants.

We must acknowledge that there is no difference between YHWH and the Angel of YHWH. Seeing and hearing the Angel of YHWH is seeing and hearing YHWH the Father. The voice of the "angel of YHWH" is the voice of YHWH. The name of the "angel of YHWH" is YHWH. The people are commanded to serve "the angel of YHWH" just as YHWH commanded them to serve Him. The people are warned in contrast to not serve the inhabitants or their gods, but to serve the "angel of YHWH". Remember Exodus 20.

Exodus 20: 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

The "Angel of YHWH" is YHWH. He is not part YHWH. He is all YHWH.

Let's notice this first appearce of the "angel of YHWH" to the elders of Israel. It happens right after YHWH declares His angel would go with them. Let's not miss the important points. YHWH is talking to Moses and tells him to come up unto the Lord, "the angel of YHWH". Notice the key points. They come up to worship the Lord, "the angel of YHWH", the one who has the name of YHWH in Him, whose voice is the Father's, YHWH's. The voice of YHWH is instructing Moses. The fire is going to consume the sacrifice. Israel is declaring that they will serve YHWH and no other god or image. The nobles see the "angel of YHWH". The testimony is quite clear, "And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.  11And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink." The Shekinah Glory is covering the mountain in cloud and on the seventh day the mountain is covered in fire and cloud.

Exodus 24:1And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off.  2And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.  3And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which the LORD hath said will we do.  4And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.  5And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD.  6And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.  7And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.  8And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.  9Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:  10And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.  11And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.  12And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.  13And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount of God.  14And he said unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you: and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: if any man have any matters to do, let him come unto them.  15And Moses went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.  16And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.  17And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.  18And Moses went into the midst of the cloud, and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.

Lets take Notice of the Following:

  • The Lord commands (Voice) Moses what to do and Moses writes it down.
  • Moses builds an altar (worship) and offered sacrifices that are consumed by fire (fire).
  • The Nobles see the God of Israel (Angel of YHWH who has the Name of YHWH).
  • The Shekinah Glory (cloud & fire) covers the mountain (Presence of YHWH).
  • The Nobles eat and drink with the God of Israel (Message of Deliverance-Bread/Wine).
  • Blood is sprinkled on the people sealing the covenant (Message of Deliverance).

Once again these encounters have these common events:

  • Fire (Presence of YHWH the Father); the Image of YHWH
  • Voice of YHWH
  • Declaring the Name of YHWH
  • Message of Deliverance (from Bondage, from Pharaoh, from Sin, from Exile, from Death)
  • Worship-service, obedience, observance

This is the angel of YHWH, YHWH the Father is there. He isn't partially there. He is all there.

Exodus 24: 10And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.  11And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.

Let's take a the next revelation that YHWH had in store for Moses. Israel was always tempted with replacing the "one who would go before them".

Exodus 23: 20: " Behold, I send an Angel before thee"

We've already determined that this angel of YHWH has the Presence of YHWH, the Voice of YHWH, the Name of YHWH, and the people worshiped Him. When they failed to serve Him they worshiped other gods and false images.

Exodus 32:  1And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

They are asking for someone "which shall go before us", just like the angel of YHWH and Moses. This is when Israel makes the counterfeit image, the golden calf. Meanwhile, Moses is on the mountain enveloped in the Glory of YHWH, the Shekinah Glory. Moses descends and finds the camp of Israel worshiping a false god and a graven image. When Moses ascends the mountain to intercede for all of Israel and ask for forgiveness for their transgression of taking other gods and worshiping graven images, notice what YHWH speaks to Moses about, "the one who would go before the people, the angel of YHWH".

Exodus 32: 29For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.30And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.  31And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.  32Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.  33And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.  34Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.  35And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

Notice that "mine angel that shall go before thee" is contrasted with the graven image of gold served by the people. The people wanted a god to go before them. There is no question that they worshiped a graven image in violation of the first commandment and that this graven image was requested by the people of Israel so that it would "go before them" as Moses and the angel of YHWH did. The idol was served and worshipped.

Exodus 32: 23For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

They wanted to make a "god" that would go before them just as Moses and the angel of YHWH did.

Exodus 32:  8They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

We cannot escape the fact that the false worship is contrasted with the true leadership and service of the angel of YHWH later in this same chapter, true worship of the true YHWH, the Father.

Exodus 32: 33And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.  34Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.  35And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

The very next chapter is a marvelous depiction of YHWH's presence with the people of Israel. Be sure to take the time to read the entire chapter. The mystery is in the details. Again notice how this follows the incident of false worship, false image, false fire, false sacrifice, false word, and a false name.

Exodus 33: 1And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:  2And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:  3Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.  4And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.  5For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.  6And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb.  7And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.  8And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle.  9And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses.  10And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.  11And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.  12And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.  13Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.  14And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.  15And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.  16For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.  17And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.  18And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.  19And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.  20And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.  21And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:  22And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:  23And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

  • YHWH sends the angel before them and YHWH drives out the inhabitants.
  • YHWH says He will not go up in the midst of them and the people mourn upon hearing this.
  • YHWH says He will come into their midst and consume them.
  • Israel removes their ornaments.
  • Moses removes the tabernacle outside the camp and those who seek YHWH would go outside the camp.
  • When Moses enters the tabernacle the Shekinah Glory descends to the door of the tabernacle and YHWH talks with Moses.
  • When the Shekinah Glory descended and talked with Moses at the tabernacle door all the people worshipped from the door of their tabernacles.
  • YHWH talks with Moses face to face.
  • Joshua never departs out of the tabernacle.
  • Moses declares that he still doesn't know who YHWH is going to send with Israel to go before them.
  • Moses asks YHWH to show him YHWH's "way" in order that Moses may know YHWH (are you getting this?)
  • YHWH declares, "my presence shall go with thee". YHWH's presence, not someone else's!
  • Moses confirms if your presence does not come with us then don't carry us up.
  • We know we have grace in YHWH's sight if He (YHWH) goes with us.
  • YHWH says he will do as Moses has spoken, His presence will go with us and we have grace in YHWH's sight and He will know us by name.
  • Moses presses on asking for YHWH to show him YHWH's glory, the presence of YHWH.
  • YHWH's goodness passes before Moses and the Name of YHWH is proclaimed to Moses.
  • Moses is told we cannot see the face of YHWH and live but we can see Him. Moses is placed in the cleft of the rock and stands upon the rock.
  • As YHWH (not someone else) passes by Moses, Moses is covered by the Hand of YHWH so that all Moses can see is YHWH's Hand and back parts.
  • The imagery is so profound, let's not miss the critical points that Moses is being shown YHWH, the Hand of YHWH, the back parts of YHWH, not someone else.

Once again these encounters have these common events:

  • Fire (Presence of YHWH the Father); the Image of YHWH
  • Voice of YHWH
  • Declaring the Name of YHWH
  • Message of Deliverance (from Bondage, from Pharaoh, from Sin, from Exile, from Death)
  • Worship-service, obedience, observance

Let's look at the next event where Moses worships YHWH. It is the very next chapter. Remember Moses had been asking YHWH to show him HIs glory, His presence, His angel, His name, His voice.

Exodus 34: 1And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.2And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount.  3And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.  4And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone.  5And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.  6And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,  7Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.  8And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.  9And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O LORD, let my LORD, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.  10And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.  11Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.  12Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:  13But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:  14For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:  15Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;  16And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.  17Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

Points to Consider:

  • Moses is to ascend and present himself before YHWH.
  • YHWH descends and stands with Moses and declares the Name of YHWH.
  • YHWH passes before Moses and proclaims YHWH; merciful, gracious, longsuffering.
  • YHWH is declaring the name of YHWH, this "proclamation"/word of YHWH passes before Moses just as Moses had asked for in the preceding chapter. Moses asked to be shown YHWH's way so that Moses might know YHWH. Moses was asking for YHWH's presence. Here we see YHWH delivering on Moses' request.
  • Just as YHWH passed before Moses in Exodus 33 only showing His hand and back parts, YHWH in Exodus 34 is now passing before Him as the Declared Word of YHWH, " the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD .6, and the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious".
  • Notice Moses' response to the Word of YHWH, the declared name of YHWH, the Angel of YHWH, " Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.  9And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O LORD, let my LORD, I pray thee, go among us;
  • YHWH declares, " I will do marvels", " I drive out". YHWH is doing the work via the Angel of YHWH.
  • Moses worships the declared Word of YHWH, the declared Name of YHWH, the Angel of YHWH, the Way of YHWH.
  • Moses the mediator of the 10 commandments knows who to worship and who not to worship. If we follow his example we then know who to worship and who not to worship. We also know who is YHWH and who is not. We would also assume that if Moses knows this then so should Joshua.

Joshua 5: 8And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole.  9And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.  10And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.  11And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day.  12And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.  13And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?  14And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?  15And the captain of the LORD's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

Points to Consider:

  • YHWH had already audibly spoken with Joshua (voice of YHWH) after Israel renewed the covenant with Him by circumcising themselves (worship).
  • The Manna (Bread of Heaven, Message of Deliverance) had ceased upon entering the Promised Land.
  • Upon affirming the covenant just as Moses had done back at Mount Sinai, the voice of YHWH speaks to Joshua and Moses and they both see the (Presence of YHWH), the angel of YHWH, the one who would go up with them, the one who has the name of YHWH in Him, the one who has the voice of YHWH (the Word of YHWH).
  • Joshua's response at the declaration of the Word of YHWH is the same as Moses in Exodus 34: 8, 8"And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped." Joshua 5: 14, " And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship..." (worship)
  • Joshua's instruction from YHWH was also the same as was given to Moses at the burning bush, Joshua 5: 15, " 5And the captain of the LORD's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so."(Presence of YHWH, FIre), Exodus 3: 5,"5And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.  6Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." (appearance of the angel of YHWH who has YHWH's name in Him)
  • Joshua was standing before YHWH and when He realized it removed his shoes and worshiped YHWH who was standing right in front of Him.
  • The Presence of YHWH was the fire in the bush and the Name in the Angel..the Captain of the Host of YHWH.
  • YHWH's presence demands worship!
  • Notice two different forms: "fire in a bush" when Moses worshipped and then the "angel of YHWH" when Joshua worshipped.

Once again these encounters have these common events:

  • Fire (Presence of YHWH the Father); the Image of YHWH
  • Voice of YHWH
  • Declaring the Name of YHWH
  • Message of Deliverance (from Bondage, from Pharaoh, from Sin, from Exile, from Death)
  • Worship-service, obedience, observance

Moses and Joshua should know if the angel of YHWH is YHWH, if the image of YHWH is YHWH, if the flesh of YHWH is YHWH, if Manna of Heaven is YHWH, if the declared word of YHWH is YHWH, if the Name of YHWH is YHWH. Yeshua is YHWH.

Yeshua is the:

  • Fire (Presence of YHWH the Father); the Image of YHWH:
    • Matthew 3:  11I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:  12Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.  13Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.  14But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?  15And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.  16And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:  17And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
    • Luke 9:  52And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.  53And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.  54And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?  55But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.  56For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.
    • Isaiah 7:  13And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?  14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.  15Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.
    • Matthew 1:  22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,  23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
    • Yeshua is YHWH with man, literally.
    • 2 Peter 3: 2That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:  3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,  4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.  5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:  6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:  7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.  8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.  11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,  12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
    • Yeshua's coming is associated with judgment and fire. Yeshua is YHWH with man.
  • Voice of YHWH:
    • John 1: 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2The same was in the beginning with God.  3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.  6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.  7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.  8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.  9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.  10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.  11He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  14And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  15John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.  16And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.  17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.  18No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
    • John 12: 26If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.  27Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.  28Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.  29The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.  30Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
    • Remember the voice of YHWH spoke out of the mountain to Moses and to the people of Israel.
    • John 8:  25Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.  26I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.  27They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.  28Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.  29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.  30As he spake these words, many believed on him.  31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
  • Declaring the Name of YHWH (the Father):
    • John 14:  3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.  5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?  6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.  8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.  9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?  10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.  11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.  12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.  15If ye love me, keep my commandments.  16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;  17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.  18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.  19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.  20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.  21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.  22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?  23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.  24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.  25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.  26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  28Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
    • Remember Moses asked YHWH to show him His glory.
    • John 14:  5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?  6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
    • Remember Moses asked YHWH to show him His way.
    • Matthew 11: 26Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight.  27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.  28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
  • Message of Deliverance:
    • John 8: 18I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.  19Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.  20These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.  21Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.  22Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.  23And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.  24I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.  25Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. 26I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. 27They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
    • Matthew 19: 25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?  26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.  27Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?  28And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.  29And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
  • Worship:
    • Matthew 28: 16Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.  17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.  18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
    • Notice we are to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and the Ruach Hakodesh, Yeshua YHWH. They are all the same name, one name, not three names.
    • Notice what it means to worship. After all that these 11 disciples had seen some still doubted even as they worshipped Yeshua YHWH, the Word of YHWH, the Name of YHWH, the Image of YHWH, the Manna of Heaven, the Angel of YHWH, the Presence of YHWH, the one who would go before the people, the Glory of YHWH. This was a major issue and not to be taken lightly.

Let's not miss the critical point. Yeshua is either YHWH or He is not. You can't be both. Let's look at Yeshua's own testimony.

    • John 5: 15The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.  16And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.  17But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.  18Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
    • Luke 5:  20And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.  21And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?  22But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?  23Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?  24But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.  25And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.  26And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

The Epistles are also quite clear that Yeshua is YHWH and is to be worshipped.

    • Philipians 2:  5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
    • Hebrews 1: 1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;  3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:  4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.  5For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?  6And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.  7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.  8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

It was even prophesied that YHWH would come to His temple.

Malachi 3:  1Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Let's not miss the critical fact that this is why the Sanhedrin also killed Yeshua. They claimed this was blasphemy.

  • John 19: 7The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.  8When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
  • Luke 22:  65And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.  66And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,  67Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:  68And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.  69Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.  70Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.  71And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
  • Mark 14: 61But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?  62And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.  63Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?  64Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
  • Matthew 26: 63But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.  64Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.  65Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. 66What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

There is an amazing abundance of scripture from the Torah, Tanach, and the Brit Chadasha substantiating that Yeshua is YHWH and is to be worshipped. It is critical that those returning to the Torah do not make the same mistake as Israel did at Mount Sinai by rejecting the true Image of YHWH for a false image. Yeshua is the true image of YHWH, Yeshua is the Word of YHWH, Yeshua is the Name of YHWH, Yeshua is the flesh of YHWH, Yeshua is the Son of YHWH, Yeshua is the angel of YHWH, Yeshua is the Way of YHWH, Yeshua is the Right Hand of YHWH, Yeshua is the Rock of YHWH, Yeshua is YHWH.

Colossians 1:  18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  19For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;  20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

The Father and Yeshua are ONE.

John 17:  21That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.  22And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:  23I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.  24Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.  25O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.  26And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

Once again these encounters have these common events:

  • Fire (Presence of YHWH the Father); the Image of YHWH
  • Voice of YHWH
  • Declaring the Name of YHWH
  • Message of Deliverance (from Bondage, from Pharaoh, from Sin, from Exile, from Death)
  • Worship-service, obedience, observance

Beware half declarations of devotion. Either Yeshua is equal to God/YHWH or He isn't. He has the fire of YHWH, the voice of YHWH, the Name of YHWH. He is YHWH. Worship YHWH.

Matthew 10:  32Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.  34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Here we see a fellow servant of the prophets telling John to worship YHWH, once again confirming that only YHWH is to be worshipped.

Revelation 19:  9And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.  10And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.  11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Even Satan knows this is the most critical issue. The counterfeit image, the false image, the graven image craves your worship and servitude.

Luke 4:  7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.  8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.  9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:  11And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.  12And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Yeshua tells Satan to worship YHWH and Him only. Notice Yeshua allows Himself to be worshipped. Notice how this contrasts the fellow servant of the prophets from the Book of Revelation who does not permit himself to be worshiped by John. Yeshua is not a man! Yeshua is YHWH's presence. Yeshua is not seperate from YHWH. Yeshua is YHWH.

Matthew 14: 32And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.  33Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.34And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.

The wise men that came seeking the newly born Yeshua came to worship Him.

Matthew 2:  1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,  2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.  3When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Matthew 2: 10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.  11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.  12And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

In fact, many came and worshipped Yeshua.

Matthew 8: 1When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.  2And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.  3And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Matthew 9:  17Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.  18While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.  19And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.

There is not one instance of Yeshua refusing worship! That is because Yeshua is YHWH.

  • Matthew 14:33
Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
    Matthew 15:25
Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
    Matthew 18:26
The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
    Matthew 20:20
Then came to him the mother of Zebedees children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
    Matthew 28:9
And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
    Matthew 28:17
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
    Mark 5:6
But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
    Mark 15:19
And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.
    Luke 4:8
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
    Luke 24:52
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
    John 4:23
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
    John 4:24
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
    John 9:31
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
    John 9:38
And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

Now His lead apostle Peter clearly understood what worship meant. He worshiped Yeshua, but refused to allow anyone to worship himself. The clarifying point that Peter makes is that he (Peter) should not be worshipped because he is a man, not God/YHWH. You are either YHWH or you are not. Peter declares, "I myself also am a man."

Acts 10:  24And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.  25And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.  26But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.

Peter's response is just like the fellowservant of the prophets from the book of Revelation. He is instructing mankind to worship YHWH. Yeshua is not a man. Yeshua is YHWH. YHWH is one and there is no other. The Torah and the Tanach confirm this. YHWH is the only Savior.

The Old Testament (Tanach) is replete with YHWH clarifying there is none beside him.  What will it take for us to take Him literally?

Deuteronomy 4:35, "You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other.

1 Kings 8:60, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God and that there is no other.

Isaiah 44:8, Do not tremble, do not be afraid. Did I not proclaim this and foretell it long ago? You are my witnesses. Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one."

Isaiah 45:5, I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,

Isaiah 45:14This is what the LORD says: "The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush, and those tall Sabeans— they will come over to you and will be yours; they will trudge behind you, coming over to you in chains. They will bow down before you and plead with you, saying, 'Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god.'

Isaiah 43:11, I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Isaiah 45:21Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

Hosea 13:4, Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

I think He is trying to tell us something.  Those scriptures that talk of Yeshua at His right hand are more accurately translated showing He IS the Right Arm of YHWH on the throne.

Psalm 98:1, [ A psalm. ] Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him.

This is the same right hand that covered Moses as YHWH passed before him in the cleft of the rock.

Isaiah 52:10 The LORD will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.

Isaiah talks of YHWH, the Father, and the Son as being the same person.

Isaiah 9:5-5For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.  6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."

This is describing ONE person, not many.  This is describing the child's name that was born.  Genesis 22 tells the story plainly.  Christianity has been reading this scripture wrong for too long.

Genesis 22: 7And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?  8And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

If you do a quick search of the Bible you will discover that the Akeida (binding of Isaac) in Genesis 22 is the first instance of the usage of the word, "worship".

Genesis 22: And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

I don't think YHWH can be any clearer.  YHWH provided Himself as the lamb for redemption of the people. The Shema is clear.

Deuteronomy 6: 3Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.  4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:  5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Worship Yeshua YHWH. There is ONE name under heaven whereby men can be saved.

Acts 4:   7And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?  8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,  9If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;  10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.  13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Halləluya!

Notice how important this is.

I John 5: 1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.  2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.  3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.  4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.  5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.  7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Once again these encounters have these common events (see above and below...all of I John 5):

  • Fire (Presence of YHWH the Father); the Image of YHWH
  • Voice of YHWH
  • Declaring the Name of YHWH
  • Message of Deliverance (from Bondage, from Pharaoh, from Sin, from Exile, from Death)
  • Worship-service, obedience, observance

I John 5:  8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.  9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. 10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.  11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.  16If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.  17All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.  18We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.  19And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.  20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.  21Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

All the components for true worship are in Yeshua YHWH. Also note that Anti-Christ/Anti-Messiah is critically connected with recognizing that if you have Yeshua, then you have YHWH (the Father). I John 2 clarifies the issue quite clearly and does so with an urgent warning!

Now a WARNING to all those who would deny Yeshua is YHWH:

What is an anti-Christ (anti-Messiah)?

I John 2: 18Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.19They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.  20But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.  21I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.  22Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.  23Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.  24Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.  25And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.  26These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.  27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.  28And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.  29If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

Can John be any clearer about who Yeshua is? And that if you have the Son, you also have the Father (YHWH). Beware of false prophets who do not cling to this teaching! Do not be mistaken into thinking that false prophets and anti-messiah are only pagan and teach only pagan religious beliefs. Anti-Christs/ Anti-Messiahs can also be of Judah, Judaism, and the Torah.

The key issue is "what they teach about Yeshua the Messiah". This will determine if they are anti-christ or anti-messiah.

I John 4: 1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:  3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.  4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.  5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.  6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.  7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.  12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.  13Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.  14And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.  15Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.  16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

What you say about Yeshua is ultimately important. If you fail in this matter you may lose your full reward.

2 John 1:  6And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.  7For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.  8Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.  9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.  10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed.11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

John can't be any clearer..." Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. "

They are One.

John 14:  7If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.  8Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.  9Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

Yeshua is clear when Phillip asks Yeshua to show them the Father. Notice Yeshua's response, " Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?"

Let's keep this simple. What could Yeshua have meant by answering the request to "show us the Father"? Yeshua says plainly, "yet has thou not known me, Phillip?"

Did Yeshua mean?:

  • A. I am Yeshua, don't you know me yet? I've been here all along.
  • B. I am the Father, don't you know me yet? I've been here all along. Notice Yeshua even follows up with, " how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? "
  • Yeshua gives the answer in the following verses after Phillip makes the request...

John 14:  10Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.11Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.  12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

They are One. Yeshua is YHWH!
