Two Creation Events? Or Seed then Flesh..

Key Points:
  • Many mistakenly think Genesis 2 is a repeat of the same creation events in Genesis 1
  • Genesis 1: The creation of all seeds and their programs/rules of existence, God is known as El, Elohim, ElShaddi
  • Genesis 2: Forming of the flesh of the seeds of the ground after watering on the Seventh Day, God is known as YHWH
  • Genesis 3:  Mixing two kinds of Seed, and thereby enters corruption, which results in death, God is known as YHWH
  • The Torah commands 'Do not mate different kinds of animals.   'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.  " 'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.”  These are still great mysteries to Torah Sages down through the ages
  • All flesh is not the same flesh and to every seed his own body
  • Adam and Eve seek to cover the areas of their bodies that produce seed after they sinned
  • We are to circumcise the flesh of the foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant between us and YHWH
  • God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed
  • Yeshua declared, “If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?”  There is a connection between circumcision and having our flesh made whole on the Sabbath
  • There is a connection between the Mikva/Baptism and circumcision, both are coming into covenant with YHWH and becoming one flesh with Yeshua.  In the Mikva you put on the incorruptible flesh of Yeshua
  • When we are circumcised in our hearts we are to repent and return to Torah, be baptized into the name/identity of Yeshua (His Flesh), and receive the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit)
  • The Mikva symbolizes the uncircumcision being grafted into the circumcised (pre-fall incorruptible flesh of Yeshua)
  • Those branches who are cut off the tree of life, for unbelief, can and will be grafted back in for belief through Yeshua
  • Yeshua is the one that, “shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob”

Notice the supposed repeated accounts of creation in Genesis are very different.  It begins in Genesis 1 and then appears to repeat the story in Genesis 2.  What is the reason for this?  And why do both chapters have subtle differences?  Did Moses mistakenly write down what YHWH told Him to write?  Did the scribes erroneously copy this section of scripture so we can now assume the account of Genesis is just some allegory that we can spiritualize away?  No.  We need to pay close attention to the details and follow the path of clues laid before us back to the garden.

Genesis 1: The creation of all seeds and their programs/rules of existence

Genesis 1: 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.  29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.  30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.  31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis 2: Forming of the flesh of the seeds of the ground after watering on the Seventh Day

Genesis 2: 3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.  4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,  5And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.  6But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.  7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  8And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.  9And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. ....15And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.  16And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:  17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.  18And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.  19And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.  20And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.  21And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;  22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Let's notice the differences in the two passages.

Genesis 1: The creation of all seeds and their programs/rules of existence

  • Not of dust
  • “MADE” In God's image
  • Male/Female
  • Dominion over all things in the earth
  • Blessed by God
  • Fruitful, Multiply, and replenish the earth
  • Every Herb/Tree yielding seed for meat/flesh of trees and herbs
  • All very good
  • God is known as El, Elohim, ElShaddi, the miraculous divine hand of God is hidden in natural
  • Processes and the multiplication of seed

Genesis 2: Forming of the seeds of the ground after watering on the Seventh Day

  • First watering is on the Sabbath
  • Every plant and herb grows
  • “FORMED” man
  • Of the dust of the ground
  • Breathed into his nostrils the breath of life
  • Man becomes a living soul
  • Every tree grows that is pleasant to sight and good for food (bearing seeds).  Also in the garden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life are placed
  • Man put in garden to dress and keep it
  • Every tree he may eat of, but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil will cause him to die
  • Man is alone and it is not good
  • Formation of all beasts and fowls from the ground
  • Adam names the animals
  • No help meet for Adam
  • Deep sleep on Adam
  • Took one of Adam's ribs, closes up the flesh instead thereof
  • Woman is “Made” from Adam's rib and brought to him
  • "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh"
  • Both Adam and Eve are naked and not ashamed
  • God is known as YHWH, Addonai, the miraculous is done openly for deliverance of redeemed flesh

Genesis 3:  Mixing two kinds of Seed, Corruption Enters, Then Death

  • Serpent lies about what they can eat, seed producing or not
  • They eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and their eyes are opened and they know they are naked
  • They seek to cover the areas of their bodies that produce seed
  • YHWH is not able to locate them as He normally would
  • They realize they need a covering, this is related to the need for circumcision to return to the Garden.  The covering applied to them needs to be removed because it is corruptible.
  • God is known as YHWH, Addonai, the miraculous is done openly for deliverance of redeemed flesh

Let's first address the practice of mixing two types of Seed.  We have specific instruction in the Torah to never mix seed.  YHWH intended for kind to produce their own kind.  To mix seeds is to cause corruption and death.

Leviticus 19: 19 " 'Keep my decrees. " 'Do not mate different kinds of animals.   " 'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.  " 'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.

1 Corinthians 15: 36Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:  37And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:  38But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.  39All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

In order for Abraham to have his seed redeemed he needed to come into covenant with YHWH.  This required the symbolic fixing of the act of  Adam covering the parts of himself that produce seed.  The foreskin must be removed and replaced by a new flesh which is incorruptible.

Genesis 17: 9And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.  10This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.  11And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.

Let's notice the first mention of circumcision is to seal the covenant between Abraham and YHWH so that he and his seed would remain in covenant with YHWH.  This covenant is tied to the promise of fruitfulness and the promise of land for an everlasting inheritance.  Prior to this event Sarah's womb was barren or dead and Abraham lamented that he did not have an heir.  He could not produce seed, just as Adam couldn’t produce seed until Eve was made from His flesh.

Genesis 17: 12And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.  13He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.  14And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.  15And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.  16And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.  17Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

So, Sarah a dead branch that cannot produce life, is restored to fruitfulness through Abraham’s Covenant with YHWH and circumcision of his entire male household.  Perhaps this is showing us the uncovering of what Adam sought to cover fearing the knowledge of his nakedness.

Deuteronomy 30:5And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.  6And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.  7And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

YHWH continues with the importance of circumcision throughout the Torah, Tanach, and the Brit Chadasha (New Testament).  He appeals to Israel not only to circumcise their flesh, but to circumcise their hearts that "they may live".  Yeshua was frequently criticized for healing on the Sabbath.  What connection is there between healing and circumcision?

John 7:21Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.  22Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man.  23If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

The Rabbis knew it was needful to circumcise even on the Sabbath because it symbolized coming into covenant with YHWH and being redeemed or made whole.  He instructed them that here he was literally and physically making someone whole on the Sabbath and releasing them from the fruits of death.  Yeshua was telling them that healing on the Sabbath is also lawful because it was fulfilling the same meaning of restoring corruptible flesh to full life.  Circumcision symbolizes healing, restoration, redemption of their seed, and coming into covenant with YHWH.  Those who were circumcised would not associate with those who are uncircumcised.  They are viewed as dead flesh, not redeemed.  Peter was faced with trying to reconcile his traditional beliefs about not associating with those out of covenant with YHWH to accepting those back into fellowship who are cleansed through Yeshua’s redemptive work.

Acts 10:33Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.  34Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:  35But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.  36The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)  37That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;  38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.  39And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:  40Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;  41Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.  42And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.  43To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.  44While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.  45And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.  46For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,  47Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?  48And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

We must not skip over these major points about covering and uncovering that area that produces seed.  Adam attempted to fix his problem by sewing fig leaves together and covering his seed bearing parts:

  • Circumcision symbolizes healing and coming into covenant with YHWH
  • YHWH is no respecter of persons
  • In every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with
Him (in covenant with Him—they produce fruit). That Word was preached after being
    baptized by John
  • That Word was anointed by the Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit)
  • That Word was hung on a tree (Tree of life)
  • That Word was resurrected to life on the third day and appeared to witnesses
  • Those witness did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead
  • That Word was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead
  • That through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins
  • They of the circumcision which believed were astonished
  • The Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word
  • Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received
the Holy Ghost as well as we?

He Commanded them to be baptized in the name of YHWH.

There is a clear connection here between what qualifies someone to be in covenant and eating with YHWH in the flesh, Yeshua.   Notice this is the same issue that Aaron, Miriam, and Moses were debating when Miriam was made Leprous and had to leave the camp for seven days.  The debate was over whether Moses' wife and family , (Cushites) could enter the Promised Land in Numbers 12.  All were prophets of YHWH but they couldn't agree on who was allowed to come into covenant with YHWH.  YHWH straightened out the issue by explaining that which YHWH had revealed to Moses was clear and not via riddles or dreams.  Moses wanted his wife and her whole family to come with them into the Promised Land because YHWH would be good to them.

YHWH is clarifying that those who produce the fruit of the tree of life are in covenant with Him and it is Yeshua who will judge who is really alive and producing fruit and upon those people will dwell the Holy Spirit.  At this point it is clear no one should be saying they are not in covenant with YHWH and forbidding water so that they might be baptized/Mikvah'd, which symbolizes becoming one flesh with Yeshua and receiving His uncorrupted flesh.  This is how we dead branches from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil that produce no life can be grafted into a tree of life that produces fruit.  That tree of life is the Torah, it is Yeshua, it is the people that keep covenant with YHWH, Israel.  There is no other.

Romans 11:11I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.  12Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?  13For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:  14If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.  15For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?  16For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.  17And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;  18Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.  19Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.  20Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:  21For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.  22Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.  23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.  24For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?  25For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.  26And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:  27For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.  28As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

Israel is the tree we are grafted into.  When the Northern ten tribes left the covenant the branches were cut off because they no longer believed.  Yeshua came to graft our gentile (those who were once of the circumcision, but are no longer circumcised) branches back into the Tree of Israel.  This is the Fulness of the Gentiles, the bringing again of the captivity.  We are the Prodigal Son that has had the lamb slaughtered for his return.  We have been made clean in Yeshua's flesh.

When Adam and Eve disobeyed YHWH’s command about eating of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil their flesh and their seed was changed, as was the serpent’s.

Serpent Flesh/Seed Result:

  • Cursed above all cattle and every beast of the field, Upon your belly shalt thou go
  • Dust shall you eat all the days of your life, Enmity between thee and the woman
  • Between thy seed and her seed, It (her seed) shall bruise thy head, and you shalt bruise his heel

Female Seed Result:

  • Multiply thy sorrow (because her seed dies), Multiply thy conception (she has many seeds but they all die)
  • Enmity between female seed and serpents seed, In sorrow bring forth children (because they will die/pain)
  • Desire towards husband and he will rule over you, same as Genesis 4: 6-8, results in Cain
  • killing Abel, envy, domination and violence

Male Seed Result:

  • Cursed is the ground for his sake
  • In sorrow you will eat of it all the days of your life (Their job was to till the ground and it was the reason they were created)
  • Thorns and thistles it will produce (match with Cain's punishment for killing Abel, Genesis 4:12-14)
  • Eat the herb of the field, In the sweat of your face will you eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it wast thou taken
  • Eve the mother of all living, Lord God makes coats of skins to cover their nakedness, flesh (doesn't say animal skins as many assume)
  • Adam and Eve know good and evil like YHWH, if they eat of the tree of life they will still live forever
  • Driven from the Tree of Life, and also the Garden, because that is where the Tree of Life is located

Genesis 4:  Conceiving seed is the same as YHWH forming a man, "Gotten a man from the Lord”

Let’s compare the trees, maybe we will learn something new.

Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil:

  • Not good for food
  • Causes death
  • Adam is alone, not good
  • Male only at first and can't produce fruit
  • Eve is grafted from Adam’s flesh
  • Symbolic of Adam
  • First Adam
  • Natural man
  • Corruptible

REMEMBER: Man allowed to eat:  ONLY "Tree and Herb yielding seeds", and Animals are allowed to eat "Every herb".

Tree of Life:

  • Bears Seed
  • Good for food
  • Causes eternal life
  • Male and Female
  • Yeshua and His bride
  • The Bride of Messiah is grafted from Yeshua’s flesh
  • Produces fruit
  • Symbolic of the Messiah and the Ruach Hakdoesh joined in ONE
  • Last Adam
  • Spiritual man
  • Incorruptible

Adam and Eve eat of a tree that does not produce seed.  This is the violation of YHWH’s command.  It was not good for food and brought death to Adam and Eve and their seed.  The fruit of this tree does not bear seed. It corrupted Adam and Eve’s seed by becoming one flesh with it.  To consume something, to eat of something, is to become one flesh.  That is why eating is symbolic of coming into covenant with someone.  You are becoming one flesh with them.  That is why the Passover meal is our becoming one flesh with Yeshua.  We become one with the tree of the fruit that we consume.  It is either going to produce good fruit or bad fruit.  There is no middle ground.  It doesn’t matter what our intentions are.  You are one with those you affiliate with.  That is why we are to work out our own salvation in fear in trembling.  The consequences are eternal.  We need to consume the Tree the produces seed.  How do you heal a branch that has been growing from a tree that does not bear seed or fruit?  Cut the branch and graft it into a tree of life that produces seed.  When we are circumcised in our hearts we are to repent and return to Torah, be baptized into the name/identity of Yeshua (His Flesh), and receive the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit).
