YHWH Reveals the Deliverance of Flesh

Key Points:
  • The name YHWH is used for the Deliverance of Flesh to the Promise of the Land
  • The name El Shaddai is used for the promise of the multiplicity of seed
  • Genesis 1 is the creation of seed, the name of El is manifest
  • Genesis 2 is the formation of flesh to the land, the name of YHWH is manifest
  • The promise of multiplicity of seed to Abram, the name of El Shaddai is used
  • The promise of the land, the name of YHWH is used
  • The Exodus is the revealing of the name of YHWH and the deliverance of the seed to the land
  • The name of El Shaddai shows God (Addonai) operating in hiding or natural events
  • The name of YHWH shows God (Addonai) operating in the open, revealing Himself in miraculous events
  • The promise of multiplicity for Israel happens in Diaspora (exile) or hiding (no one knows their identity)
  • On the last day YHWH will reveal Himself again and deliver Israel from exile and renew their flesh (life) and return us to the land of promise
  • YHWH will regather Israel on the last day
  • Yeshua died for the nation of Israel and to gather those scattered abroad
  • Yeshua is YHWH manifest in the uncorrupted flesh

The Almighty reveals Himself to man through various names and each name has meaning and significance.  He is always communicating with us, but we are not always able to understand what he means.  It is up to us to be an active participant in our redemption and come out of sin that we can come to the point of hearing the voice of YHWH.

In Exodus the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob begins to reveal Himself to the Children of Israel in away that He had not done with their forefathers.

Exodus 6:2And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD:And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH (YHWH) was I not known to them.4And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.

YHWH is telling the Children of Israel that He is going to reveal himself to them by the name of YHWH and all that the name means.  Now it is clear that the promises that were made to Abram and Jacob were given in two names of God, El Shaddai (El, Elohim) and YHWH (Lord).

Genesis 15:4And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.7And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?9And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

Notice the focus of this passage is the promise of inheritance of the promised land.  God promises the land to Abraham’s descendants in the name of YHWH (Lord).  So Abraham knew the name YHWH. When God promises to Abraham the multiplicity of seed He makes His promises in via the name El Shaddai.

Genesis 17:1And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God (El Shaddai); walk before me, and be thou perfect.  And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.  3And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

The covenant with Abram and his descendants included great multiplicity of seed/descendants and the promise of the inheritance of the promised land. When God promises multiplicity of seed He uses the name El Shaddai.  When God promises the deliverance of the land He uses the YHWH (Lord).  The creation and promise of seed is hidden and the deliverance of the land is out in the open for all to see (revealed).  You see the same patterns of the God (Adonai) working His mighty hand in the events of the world.  The Book of esther is a great example of Adonai operating in hiding but moving His will in the events of the world.  Not once is Adonai’s name mentioned in the Book of esther, but His will is manifest throughout.  The Book of esther is about the preservation of the Seed of Israel in Persia.  The seed is in Diaspora or hiding.  So the miracles seem to occur as a part of natural events.  Other nations cannot tell that these are Adonai’s people.  They are very similar to Joseph.  Not even his brothers could tell he wasn’t Egyptian, but of their own seed.

The same is true for Joseph.  His divine role was for the saving of many (seed).

Genesis 50:19And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?20But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.21Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

Adonai is operating in the life of Joseph through seemingly natural every day events, not through great visible miracles.  Even Joseph’s brothers have difficulty seeing the divine hand of Adonai in the events of their lives.  That is because He is operating through natural events and hiding the miraculous in the common everyday events.  Notice the same pattern is observed in Genesis 1 and 2.  In Genesis 1, Addonai is revealing himself (making himself known) via the name El, Elohim (derivation of El Shaddai).  So we know that Addonai is operating (revealing himself in hidden everyday natural events). In Genesis 1 we have already learned that Addonai is creating seed for all flesh and their ability to multiply in hiding.  This passing on of seed and multiplicity is divine and miraculous and seems to be common and a part of nature.

Genesis 1: 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The word for God in Genesis one is Elohim.  So we know He is operating in a hidden fashion.  Now let’s remember that the promises to Ephraim and Manasseh.

Genesis 48: 2And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession. And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance. And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem. And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these?9And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them. Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them. And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.12And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth. And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn. And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.17And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head. And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.20And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh. And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.

Notice these promises.  They are about the recognition or lack thereof of Israel’s seed.  They key question is stated by Jacob, “Whose are these?”  He answers his own question, “ let my name be named on them..”.  Jacob’s eyes were dim so he could not see to tell who his seed was.  He had to touch the lads to tell who the greater blessing would go to.  Even Joseph protests because he cannot tell who the greater blessing should go to.  Jacob instructs Joseph that these two would be great in the earth and one of the sons would become a multitude “in the midst of the earth”.  I believe this term to be an allusion to the future Diaspora and being hidden in the earth and then promised to return to the land of their fathers.  This great multiplicity happens in hiding and seemingly natural events.  Notice how the phrase “midst of the earth” from Genesis 48 and Joseph’s hiding and subsequent multiplicity matches up in Genesis 2.

Genesis 2:And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Exodus 1:And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them. Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.9And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

Also keep in mind that while Israel was in Egypt (Diaspora) their seed multiplied exceedingly and their flesh was delivered by YHWH.  And in Genesis 2 the multiplicity of the created seed of the Image of YHWH and the formation of life and life of man occurs in the midst of the Garden of Eden.  Both multiplicity of seeds and deliverance of flesh occur “in the midst of” the Garden and the Earth  Hidden seed is revealed by YHWH as living flesh!  As with Adam, so with Israel.  As in the beginning, so in the end.  Seed is sown and flesh is reaped.

The Egyptians could not tell that Israel was the betrothed of YHWH.  Just as Pharaoh could not tell that Sara was Abram’s wife.

Genesis 12: 18 So Pharaoh summoned Abram. "What have you done to me?" he said. "Why didn't you tell me she was your wife? 19 Why did you say, 'She is my sister,' so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife. Take her and go!" 20 Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and everything he had.

Addonai is about to reveal Himself as the Groom of Israel.  That requires the revealing of the groom and the bride.  That is why Addonai begins to show Himself (make Himself known) as YHWH.  He is about to provide deliverance of the seed to the land.  No longer does He operate in the hidden events of man, but in the revealed miraculous events of the Exodus.  He delivers the seed the multiplied in hiding (Diaspora).  The same will be the case at the end of the age.

Now notice Genesis 2 again.  You see the appearance of YWHW (Lord God).  Why?  Because He is delivering multiplied seed, Flesh.

Genesis 2: And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Let’s read this carefully.  Genesis is clarifying that nothing grew until the seventh day.  That means all the seed of Genesis one multiplied but did not deliver flesh as yet.  That could only happen with the watering on the seventh day and the revealing of the Lord God (YHWH).  After the formation of the flesh of  man then YHWH gives him the breath of life and places him in the Garden Addonai created.  Addonai is revealing Himself to man with a new name, YHWH.  So once again, El, El Shaddai, and Elohim is the name He uses for the creation and multiplication of seed.  He uses the name YHWH for the deliverance of the flesh of that seed to the promised land.

Now how is that He says He did not make Himself known to the Patriarchs by the name of YHWH.  We’ve already established that they knew the name YHWH and that the promise of the land was given to them in the name of YHWH.  But He says He did not make Himself known or reveal Himself by the name of YHWH.  The answer is in the land.  Did Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob possess the land?
Exodus 35: 27And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.

Notice they sojourned they did not possess the land!

Genesis 17: 7 I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. 8 The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God."Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come.

Notice the Patriarchs did not possess the land, they were aliens in the land.  Addonai made the promise but did not deliver the promise until future generations.  So He was not known (revealed) as YHWH.  That was to come later when He would deliver their seed from Egypt.  That is why you see the repeated phrase that they were “to go up to possess the land”.

Deuteronomy 1:Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates.Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them.
Deuteronomy 1:And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us.Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.22And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.

YHWH is revealing Himself to Israel’s multiplied delivered seed and bringing them to the land to “possess” it.  They will not be aliens or sojourners.  They will possess the land unlike their fathers.  Hence the usage of the name YHWH, which name the promise was originally given in.  Addonai was no longer going to operate in the background, but where everyone could see Him and know His name!  It will be the same in the end.

Ezekiel 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. 3 He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" I said, "O Sovereign LORD, you alone know."

This is YHWH returning all of Israel from Diaspora (exile).  It happens on the seventh day and involves the creation of flesh and the giving of the breath of life just as in Genesis 2.

Ezekiel 37:So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.9 Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.' " 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army. Then he said to me: "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.

This is Israel about to be delivered by YHWH!

Ezekiel 37: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. 22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. 23 They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, [b] and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
This will happen on the last day!  Who will do it? YHWH!  So we know it will be visible and miraculous!  Yeshua is YHWH.

Mark 14: And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.25Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

It is Yeshua’s flesh and blood that provides deliverance and the restoration of the Kingdom of God, the reunification of Israel, and the gathering of Israel back to the land.

John 11: Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.51And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;52And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

It is through Yeshua’s flesh that we (Israel) receive life and are re-gathered to the Land!  Yeshua is YHWH.

Exodus 14: Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

“Stand still and see the Yeshua of YHWH.”
“Stand still and see the Salvation of YHWH.”
